Player 1's Turn!
The two players go back and forth playing X's and O's.
On the first turn, the first player can play wherever they want.
On all subsequent turns, the player must play in the board that corresponds to the position of the previous play within its larger box (the box with a red outline). If that board has already been completed, the player can play anywhere.
A player must get three in a row on the big board to win.
